Denuvo Startup Verification Workflow

Verification code usage, Steam startup order, and troubleshooting notes

Overview

This guide helps users understand Denuvo prompts, verification code timing, Steam startup order, and what to check after verification completes.

Use Cases

Startup verification prompt

Useful when a game shows a verification prompt and requires a clear handling path.

Verification failure checks

Check code, time, network, version, and software state in a predictable order.

After game updates

Verification state may change after updates, so confirm both game and software versions first.

What It Helps With

How to use LuckyGameTools for Denuvo startup verification (Video guide)

1
After installed the game, a pop-up message will appear when starting the game indicating that the Denuvo game needs to be activated
2
Exit the running Steam
3
Copy the complete verification code. The verification code starts with lgt and is valid for 30 minutes; refer to the contribution method below for details on how to get it.
4
Hover over the corresponding game on the left side of the software and click the triangular start button. If it does not appear, it may be a system clipboard issue; try pasting in an empty area.
5
Log in to your Steam account. Make sure Steam was started from step 4.
6
Launch the game and wait for verification to complete. A DRM Activation successful message should appear, then the game and Steam will exit automatically.
7
After that, start Steam normally to play the game. You do not need to use the verification code again after completion; do not update the system after verification.

Tip:

1. Denuvo is an official game verification mechanism. This software only assists with the startup verification workflow. The general principle is that encrypted game files are bound to the system, so verification is usually only needed again when the system or game files change. If the verification status expires, complete the flow again with a new verification code.

2. For games that jump from Steam to a third-party platform, you currently need to log in to a third-party platform account that owns the Steam version of the game before the game can finally launch. After the game launches successfully, use the Toolbox in this software for the supported third-party platform helper flow, for example: Assassin's Creed Shadow on the Ubisoft platform.

Notes

  • Denuvo is an official game verification mechanism; the software assists with the startup workflow.
  • System or game file changes may require verification again.
  • Verification codes expire, so use a fresh code when needed.

Common Questions

Does Denuvo verification always require a code?

Not always. It depends on the game, current version, and launch state.

Should I retry immediately after failure?

Check time, network, game version, and software version first to avoid repeating the same failed state.
